I was looking through my file of rose pictures that didn't make the cut the first time around. Usually they get overlooked because the photo was a wide view but the better image is a cropped one. So for whatever reason they stayed in the file titled "extras". Now that they have caught my eye I am sharing them with you.
I'm glad you enjoyed them. Marie, you can order Reine des Violettes from Burlington, Heirloom, or Rogue Valley Roses each of which are linked in my Resources List on the right farther down the page.
Andi, I love Iris but only have a few. I need to add 5-10 new varieties next year.
Holley, I have had JJ 2 years with only a little bit of blackspot but we were very dry this past summer and you are probably much more humid. I have heard from others that JJ had blackspot for them.
Redneck Rosarian, Tattooed Lady is gorgeous when 1/2 to 2/3 open because of the reverse color of its petals. It's not a pretty when fully open. All in all I really like it.
Thanks for the info. I had heard she would blackspot but figured Oklahoma and Texas had similar weather. On another note: Congratulations! Because of your love for roses (my personal favorite), I am awarding you the Liebster award (which in German means favorite). You can read more about it at my post here: http://dreamingofroses.blogspot.com/2012/01/1-blooms.html I hope you will accept it and pass it on to 5 of your favorite blogs, too. :)
These flowers look beautiful! One thing I like the most about my Prague city break holidays is the beauty of the city and the foliage surrounding the parks!
Absolutely beautiful... I can smell them! I saved the reine des violettes to my pinterest board, hope to find it this year!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Thanks so much for sharing them. Love roses and irises together.

ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! Each one has their own beauty. I've wondered about Jeri Jennings - such a beautiful color, but does she blackspot much?
ReplyDeleteWow! Glad you found these. Tattoo Lady is awesome!
